Dr Stephen Southgate wishes to notify patients that he will be resuming working 3 days a week hours as of the 28th of July as per the following hours:
Monday and Tuesday – morning and afternoon appointments available.
Wednesday – morning appointments only available.

Dr Stephen Southgate has thirty-eight years of experience working as a doctor in various roles in Western Australia after graduating from the University of Western Australia in 1987.
He has spent the last 33 years in metropolitan General Practice. Dr Southgate enjoys all aspects of general practice and has experience working with patients of all age groups and backgrounds in the modern general practice environment.
Billing:
Dr Southgate will continue his prior policy of bulk-billing certain groups of patients.

The following billing arrangements apply for Dr Southgate’s patients currently:
- The following groups of patients will be bulk billed for consultations:
- Children 12 years of age and under
- Patients with a Commonwealth Concession Card, which includes:
- Pensioner Concession Card
- Health Care Card
- Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
- All Department of Veteran’s Affairs patients whose conditions are covered by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
- All patients who are recommended to undergo relevant Medicare-funded Health Assessments (e.g., annually for patients over the age of 75) and GP Chronic Care Management Plans (GPCCMP) for patients with one or more chronic medical conditions who would benefit from a structured approach to their care. These additional services add to the value of the care we provide and improve long term health outcomes.
- All other patients will be billed the private consultation fee or fees that apply to that consultation. This includes:
- All consultations related to Workers Compensation and Insurance Commission of WA claims. Fees will need to be paid for by the patient at the time of consultation until their claim has been accepted by the third-party insurer.
- Any patients experiencing genuine financial hardship are requested to discuss their situation with Dr Southgate. Fees may be reduced on a case-by-case basis at the doctor’s discretion.
